The Georgia Department of Transportation said all lanes of I-285 between Cascade Road and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive will be closed this weekend, with detours in place for drivers traveling through the area.
Motorists should expect heavy traffic and delays on nearby roads throughout the weekend as traffic is rerouted around the closure.
The construction is part of GDOT’s ongoing efforts to improve safety and extend the life of the interstate.
