Shoppers at Atlantic Station faced an unexpected disruption Thursday evening after a bomb threat forced evacuations. Atlanta police swiftly responded to a phoned-in threat targeting a building on 19th Street NW, home to a Regal movie theater and several businesses.
Officers quickly secured the area, blocking off 19th Street while directing people to the nearby greenspace.

Authorities evacuated the entire building, including nearby businesses, taking no chances as K-9 units swept the area for any potential danger. Given the size of the building, multiple dogs were deployed to conduct a thorough search.
After an extensive investigation, police found no explosives and cleared the scene, allowing businesses to reopen. Homeland Security is now working to trace the source of the call. Atlantic Station’s management later confirmed that the entertainment district was safe, allowing stores and restaurants to resume business.
