The family of DJ Unk, born Anthony Leonard Platt, has announced funeral services following his sudden death on January 24 at age 43. The service will take place on Saturday, February 8, at 11 a.m. at Siloam Church International.
The announcement comes a week after the rapper’s family confirmed his death. Reports state that DJ Unk passed away in his sleep from a heart attack. His wife, Sherkita Long-Platt, also clarified the cause of death, dismissing rumors of substance abuse.

DJ Unk gained fame in the mid-2000s with hits like “Walk It Out” and “2 Step,” which became anthems in the Atlanta hip-hop scene. His debut album, Beat’n Down Yo Block!, was released in 2006, with “Walk It Out” reaching the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and even getting a remix featuring André 3000.
