Rapper Jeezy shared on Instagram how a last-minute road trip with an Uber driver helped him make it to a show in Baltimore after weather cancellations disrupted his travel plans.
According to Jeezy’s post, all flights to Baltimore and Washington, D.C., were canceled on the day of the show. His team arranged for a driver to take him to Baltimore, but two hours into the drive, the car hit an object on the highway, puncturing the gas tank and causing a fuel leak. They stopped at a gas station in South Carolina while his team looked for other options, including a private jet, but weather made that uncertain.
Jeezy said they then called an Uber to take them to a rental car location. During the ride, he asked the driver, Tanner, if he could take them straight to Baltimore instead. Tanner agreed and drove them about ten hours to the show.
They arrived just ten minutes before Jeezy’s set. To thank him, Jeezy gave Tanner a Snowman T-shirt and brought him backstage as his guest.
“Shout out to the real MVP, my Uber driver Tanner! Not all heroes wear capes!” Jeezy wrote.
