When the game is on the line, Trae Young delivers. With just 1.6 seconds left and the score tied at 130, the Hawks star pulled off a stunning 23-foot fadeaway to sink the Detroit Pistons and snap Atlanta’s brutal eight-game losing streak.
Despite dealing with right Achilles tendonitis, Young looked unstoppable. He dropped 34 points—17 in the fourth quarter—while dishing out nine assists and knocking down four threes.
His clutch stats this season are undeniable: most clutch points (106), most clutch assists (26), and the highest number of go-ahead shots in the final 10 seconds.
Yet, somehow, he didn’t make the All-Star team. The Hawks (23-27) continue to battle without Jalen Johnson, who is sidelined for the season. Dyson Daniels stepped up with a stat-stuffing performance, while De’Andre Hunter and rookie Zaccharie Risacher chipped in solid contributions. Atlanta will look to build momentum when they host Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs on Wednesday.
