A customer has been identified after throwing a milkshake at a Dairy Queen manager in Powder Springs.
The incident happened Tuesday at the Dairy Queen located at 3913 Austell-Powder Springs Road.
According to the restaurant, the customer became upset after claiming the milkshake he received “was not a milkshake” before throwing the drink through the drive-thru window at the manager.
Dairy Queen said it filed a police report and initially asked the public for help identifying the customer. The restaurant also urged people not to post names online to avoid misidentifying anyone.
On Wednesday, Dairy Queen announced the suspect had been identified.
The Powder Springs Police Department confirmed the suspect had been identified after officers and detectives investigated the incident. Police said criminal charges are pending.
“It’s never okay to assault someone who is simply doing their job,” the department said in a Facebook post while thanking community members who provided information.
The department also offered support to the employee involved, adding, “To the employee involved, we’re with you.”
The suspect’s name and the pending charges have not been released.
