Cobb County police are searching for suspects after a U-Haul truck was used in an ATM smash-and-grab at a shopping center in Mableton early Thursday morning.
The theft happened around 6:50 a.m. on Veterans Memorial Highway, where the truck was rammed into a Family Dollar and a laundromat in the same shopping center, leaving both storefronts damaged.
Investigators said the suspects first tried to break into the ATM inside the Family Dollar, but part of the wall collapsed onto the machine, preventing them from taking it.
Surveillance footage from the laundromat shows the U-Haul being backed into the storefront.
Two individuals dressed in black and wearing ski masks are then seen loading an ATM into the truck before leaving the scene.
Authorities said ATMs at both businesses were targeted, but only one was taken. The investigation is ongoing.
