Gwinnett County police say King Harris, the son of T.I., was arrested Sunday following a traffic stop involving a Tesla Cybertruck in the Peachtree Corners area.

According to police, an officer spotted a camo-wrapped Cybertruck speeding near Holcomb Bridge Road and Peachtree Corners Circle on April 12. The officer accelerated to catch up and said the driver, later identified as Harris, was traveling about 70 mph in a 45 mph zone. Police also reported he was drifting between lanes and failing to use turn signals.

Harris told the officer he did not realize how fast he was going and said he was on his way to pick up food.

During the stop, police said a handgun was visible on the dashboard and an open THC container was observed inside the vehicle. Because the firearm was within the driver’s reach, the officer asked Harris to step out of the vehicle to safely continue the stop. Police say he refused multiple times despite being given several opportunities to comply and was then placed under arrest for obstruction. He eventually complied after speaking with his attorney.

Rapper T.I. arrived at the scene during the arrest and attempted to resolve the situation, but officers said Harris had already been given multiple chances to step out of the vehicle.

Harris was taken into custody without further incident.

Authorities said that while at the jail, a pill identified as oxycodone was found in his possession, leading to an additional charge. It is not clear whether he had a valid prescription.

He is facing charges of obstruction, drug possession, speeding, and a seatbelt violation. He was later released on bond.
